Our Story
Hello! We’re Ben and Moline: parents, partners, and the co-creators of Boppo.
We built Boppo because we want our kids to have something they can enjoy over and over again throughout childhood, supporting them through learning and play.
Ben started building Boppo back in 2019, after he noticed our one-year-old Ellis loved pushing buttons. Through the first version of this invention, Ellis learned his colors quickly, and Ben realized the opportunity for both education and play with a few light up buttons.
Ben and Moline met while working at Google. Ben’s background is in engineering, and Moline’s is in product, with an emphasis on education and media.
While we are big fans of technology and education, knowing that good tech can be a powerful way to help our kids learn and develop, we have also seen the negative effects some technology has on children.
We’re determined to bring only the good to Boppo. We hope your family loves it and we look forward to bringing you more fun and play with Boppo.
After years of prototypes and iterations, Boppo launched on Kickstarter in 2024. Thank you to the 960 backers who supported Boppo with over $100,000 to continue development!
With another year of refinements, testing, and certifications Boppo is now loved by families of all ages and sizes.
Boppo is continually updated with new activities and content and after 6 years our story is just beginning.
